HORWICH RMI BULLETS REDS

Bullets Points   July-Aug    Issue 1

2009/10 SEASON

·        Training

Training is every Monday night starting at 6.15pm and finishing at 7.30pm. While it is still light at night we will continue to train at Rivington School top pitch. From the first week in October we will switch to an enclosed all weather facility at Lever Park School, Stocks Park Drive, Horwich.

·        Pre- Season Friendlies

Matches have been arranged for Saturday 15, 22 and 29 August with one more friendly to be squeezed in, probably on a training night.

·        2009/10 Season Start

Season starts Saturday 5 September 2009. Format will continue to be 7-a-side with duration of games 60 minutes – 30 minutes each way.

·        Home Matches

Our home pitch and kick off time will be the same as last season – Rivington School top field kick off 10.30am. Players to report at 10am.

·        Away Matches

Will continue to meet at Beehive. Meeting time will vary dependant upon opponents.

·        2009/10 Squad

Ant will be speaking to parents about completion of the necessary signing on forms ready for the season start.  It is important parents give us a mobile phone number and e-mail address (where they have one) for ease of communication. Parents should contact the coaches at the earliest opportunity if their child cannot train/play. Coaches mobile numbers/e-mail addresses are given at the foot this letter.

·        2009/10 Kit

New shirts/shorts/socks will be issued. Shirts are currently being logoed. New squad numbers 1-11 will be issued. Any player from last year wishing to retain a squad number should let us know asap before new squad numbers are issued.

·        Team Selection for new season

Players should prepare for training like it is a match day. Come kitted out in the right gear including shin pads at all times and in the right frame of mind to listen, learn, work hard and play competitive football.

Training will be an important part of selecting the team for match day so it is important that players come to training willing to learn and trying to impress the coaches. The team for the Saturday will be selected following training on the Monday and parents notified of the team selection by text no later than the Wednesday.

We will not be taking more than 9 players on a match day and will not be operating a rotation system for all the players signed on. In this respect parents are reminded that payments to the club cover facilities and running expenses and are not a guarantee of Saturday football. Substitutes will be used and the extended playing time should give us more flexibility but we cannot guarantee a minimum number of minutes on the field as the coaches will make decisions on the best use of substitutes in accordance with how the game is unfolding on the day.
